Hey guys, I must come clean on something I did this past Thursday night/early Friday morning. In my Don Quijote-esque attempt to make the league a better place, I REset CHI's lineup AFTER Thursday night's game (as I did not get a chance to look at all of the league lineups BEFORE the game as promised as I had no internet connection). His lineup originally included Elvis Dumervil, who was inactive, and in an attempt to end the non-lineup setting that has plagued us this year, figured that would take care of us this week. Going through the lineups post-haste again today (same problem with internet), I see that AT LEAST three other teams started players who ended up inactive. Obviously, I shouldn't have done this, not only because 1. It's not on an individual, not even a Commissioner to do these baby-sitting measures, 2. It's not fair to MIN or any other team's opponent, as we would have to then award an active player, and 3. I now don't remember who I replaced Dumervil WITH (though Charlie and I both think it was Hightower)!
I wanted to offer my resignation to the league as a result of this, as it is not something that I should have done, and in hindsight, looks much worse and less defensible now than it did at the time. I have been under a lot of stress lately after my breakup with my live-in GF for the past two-and-a-half years. She has basically taken me to financial ruin at the moment, and therefore I cannot even afford internet on a monthly basis. I so much appreciate all the extra work you all have been doing (especially ARI, BAL, LA and MIN with the transaction processing), and this was an ill-fated attempt by myself to do what I usually do for the league without having the means (internet) to do so.
The LMs and I will be coming up with an appropriate way to handle this both this week and going forward. As it turns out, Charlie, for his part, experienced complications with his surgery and was back in the hospital, even though this wasn't articulated to us (I mean obviously he had things more important than fantasy football to worry about in that situation, so we wish him the best and a clean bill of health).
Once again, I apologize profusely for this error in judgment guys, and it's been a pleasure being one of your commissioners.
