The LMs (minus Erik, who again, was involved in this particular situation so had to be excluded for conflict of interest) have voted, and the tally is 3 votes to accept Andrew's bid (PHI) of $3/4y and award him the player, 2 votes to restart the bidding altogether, as neither Sal's posting or Andrew's bids reflected the correct format in which to do so, and 1 abstention. This decision is final, though there is the possibility that we can make future changes to the rulebook to reflect the the possibility of something like this happening again and allowing us to specify in the rule book how it should be handled. Feel free to make such submissions to the Suggestions board and remember to include a poll with the necessary voting options. Only a majority is needed to pass a rule.
Additionally, as some of our rules are outdated back to the MFL, I and several other LMs have selected a Rules Committee that will begin work on updating those rules soon. This process should not change anything in this league drastically, but simply to refine or remove the rules that are out of date (for example, one of the rules still mentions that we are in an ESPN league I believe, and we'll need to correct things like that). I will announce the committee members once finalized in the coming week(s) (I dunno, maybe weeks, but hoping for soon).
Lastly, I apologize for the length of time it took to come to this conclusion for the LMs. In future, we certainly aim to be faster, and I take the blame as being an impediment on this, as I wasn't logging on at my normal clip due to the mass of job applications I'm sending out during the June hiring period (teaching, so it's the largest window), in addition to having to take a mini break because of my frustration with this situation. Thank you for your understanding.
