Obviously this would not be implemented this year but what if we did a little draft before the playoffs each year where the top 4 seeds in each conference got to select which of the wildcard teams they would match up against in the 1st round. This would reward teams for doing well in the regular season since right now there really is no reward (i.e. a bye).
So for example, the top 4 in the AFC are JAX, PIT, BUF and LAC, and the wildcard teams are CIN, NYJ, HOU and OAK.
JAX would get first pick since he’s the #1 seed so let’s say he chooses CIN based on matchups or maybe CIN's QB just got hurt or whatever. Then PIT would be up next as the #2 seed and PIT could choose any of the remaining 3 wildcard teams.
Idk it seems like it could be kind of fun and easy to implement. Anyone agree or disagree?

Original and inventive. One of the best ideas I've seen presented in this league. Well done.

Groundbreaking! A masterpiece of independent thought. I for one would love to see this added next year. What fun!

My QB better damn well not get hurt at this point. I don't have the handcuff anymore, and he is owned!
