Head to head only works when all the tied teams played each other. Here they didn't, so it should go to points scored, and whoever of the 3 scored the most should be in. That's how NFL's H2H tiebreaker rule works--it only applies if all the teams involved played each other. Upon looking into it further, this is the correct answer, at least based on NFL rules. That’s not to say we necessarily followed this in years prior. I’m all for strengthening this rule in the off-season.

But I feel like we can agree that there’s no was that GB should be in there.

Right, GB is eliminated under either approach.

The rules state that it goes by.... 1. Head to head 2. Points 3. Division record The way that reads to me is that we would eliminate any head to heads first. TB lost to GB so they would be out. GB and DAL are left. Then you would consider points. DAL has more points so they would get in. It could be argued that TB eliminates DAL based on points and GB eliminates TB based on head to head but that seems like a backward way of doing it when the rules explicitly state that it goes by head to head first. This is the way that I have been doing it for three years now, and by that method, DAL would be in. The problem is, at least as it’s been explained to me, is I might have been doing it wrong per the league rules. I went back and looked, and while it didn’t affect any playoff seedings or berths during that time, it did affect draft order for non-playoff teams.
