Once again in Week 9, teams that were within the top-10 tended to stay there, as there has been a clearly defined top group for weeks there, still led by the lone undefeated team, Seattle, who destroyed his primary conference competition, Philadelphia, on a bad bye-week script for him. As a result, Andrew drops a spot, and Jordan climbs one to take the #2 spot. Pittsburgh won again, despite a relatively low-scoring effort once again. He moves into fourth. Cincinnati climbs one spot to 5th, followed by fellow two-loss teams, Buffalo and Carolina, who each beat up on their opponent (Indianapolis and Minnesota respectively) in the 6th and 7th spots. Speaking of Matt and Minnesota, he slides four spots and into the 8th spot. As such, there is no room for the Jets to climb, as they stay at 9 after beating Houston…who stays in the 10th spot.
LAC stays in 11th despite more than doubling up his opponent, because he barely scratched 100. Behind him is Detroit, who also stays pat, after getting back over .500 himself, but not scorching the Earth either. Tampa Bay climbs three spots and into 13th after a solid win over Chicago, and is now the top 4-win team. Oakland drops a spot after losing a hotly-contested game vs. Cleveland, and is by far the top 3-win team. Speaking of the Browns, they win and jump six spots into 15th. Baltimore drops three after an anemic performance, to close out the top-half.
The Rams punctuate their fifth win with Trey’s highest-ranking of the season, starting the bottom half at 17. Indy, ever the wild card, drops 3 slots to 18 after another uneven effort. Dallas and Washington each make a climb, with Aaron rising 4, and Dave 5 spots, to close out the top-20.
Castle took another drop, this time four spots to #21 after being doubled up by the Jags. A once-promising season seems to have petered out with Josh again suffering historically bad luck. Denver, New Orleans, and Arizona are the next three, each dropping after losses. New England climbs four spots to #25 after their second win, and Tennessee, whom they beat handily, falls two spots and right in behind the Pats. Green Bay climbs one spot to 27 after a win that takes them to 4-5, but like Atlanta, who behind 3-6 Kansas City also dropped two despite a 4-5 record, both teams are in the very bottom group of the league in scoring. Chicago, San Francisco, and the New York Giants finish out the bottom three.
