1. Kansas City +3 (1-0)- Brooks blew the competition out of the water, outscoring the next-highest GM by over 34 points. While Matt Ryan won’t drop 40 points every week, it’s looking like I underpicked Brooks in the pre-season, so he moves up 3 spots to #1.
2. Philadelphia +1 (1-0)- As a result of Seattle falling down due to lackluster performance, Andrew’s team takes the new #2 slot.
3. Pittsburgh +1 (1-0)- Just like Philly, Garrett’s team performed well, and based on pre-season rankings and this weekend’s performance, moves up 1 spot.
4. Seattle -3 (1-0)- Cecil’s team wasn’t really on its game this weekend, particularly Robert Griffin, and as a result, he fell a few spots. With his roster though, I can’t really justify any more. Just a bad week for him…but he still won. That’s pretty scary.
5. Minnesota 0 (1-0)- Matt’s team is finally turning the corner, and it all came together this weekend in a heated match up with the NFC South’s best team, Atlanta, which he won despite losing Lacy during the game. He’ll stay in fifth for now.
6. Miami +1 (1-0)- Donny put up an impressive 136 points, despite his DL performance (2.4 total points) en route to victory. He’s up 1 spot from last week.
7. Cincinnati +1 (1-0)- Despite a head-scratcher from Hightower (1.2 points), Cincy managed to put up the fourth most points in the league this weekend, though McKelvin’s performance is likely an outlier. The Bengals move up 1 spot.
8. New England +7 (1-0)- Chris’ debut as NE’s GM went very well, as he had the third-most points in the league this weekend, cashing in on Allen Hurns’ big week. We’ll see if that continues, but for now, he jumps 7 spots, all the way up to #8.
9. Detroit +8 (1-0)- Jump 7 spots you say? Well I’ll see you that and one more said Ryan, who posted the second-most points this week. Also, he didn’t start a quarterback and recorded 3 total 0’s. Just. Plain. Nasty. Looks like I underrated him in the pre-season ratings rather severely. He should keep climbing with Gordon on the way back.
10. Arizona 0 (1-0)- Nice debut from Mett, whose Arizona team kept pace in the NFC West with a 118-point game despite a 0 from his TE. He stays put though with Detroit and New England jumping into the top-10.
11. San Francisco +3 (1-0)- The Niners are up three this week after winning a hard-fought game with Dallas with the help of six ACTUAL Niners.
12. Oakland +7 (1-0)- Oakland jumps 7 spots with a blowout win over BUF and a 0-point game from Dwayne Bowe. Impressive.
13. New York Giants 0 (1-0)- Without Peyton Manning, the Giants would have been the second-lowest scoring team in the league this week (and only 1 point away from the lowest). New York stays put due to that.
14. Atlanta -5 (0-1)- Lost a tough fight with MIN despite putting up nearly 111 points. Three 0’s spoiled the fun though, and as a result, ATL drops 5 spots.
15. Jacksonville –9 (0-1)- A big game from Antonio Brown wasn’t enough to save Jacksonville from poor performances by Aaron Rodgers and Reuben Randle and a 43-point loss to CIN. As a result, JAX drops 9 spots.
16. Washington -4 (0-1)- Dave’s Redskins put up nearly 120 points, but was steamrolled by Detroit. As it stands, he only drops 4 spots this week.
17. Indianapolis +8 (1-0)- Able to dodge several less than superlative weeks from some of his players (two with O’s and a few key contributors at 5 points or fewer), J.R. managed to top 118 points and get the win, and rises 8 spots in the process.
18. Green Bay +14 (1-0)- The biggest riser of any team, Green Bay put on a show this weekend with a 120-point total and 50-point thrashing of Carolina. Perhaps there is more life in this team than I previously thought, and the 14-spot rise speaks to that.
19. Dallas +3 (0-1)- Dallas rises despite losing because of the performance that Aaron’s team gave. At just short of 122 points, and without Doug Martin for most of the day and an underachieving Brady, Dallas looks the part of a team who can give anyone trouble.
20. Cleveland +10 (1-0)- A 10-spot rise for the winners lowest on the PRs this week, Cleveland shocked the league by beating Denver by 13 and scoring 119 in the process. That includes receiving less than a point from the second-best offensive option on the team.
21. San Diego +5 (0-1)- San Diego is up 5 spots after giving New England a good effort. With better games from Victor Cruz and Henry Melton going forward, it is possible Leif sneaks into the top half.
22. Houston +7 (0-1)- Erik’s upstart Texans gave Garrett a scare with a 119+ point game despite virtually nothing from Allen Robinson and Jace Amaro. Those guys should get better as the season goes on. HOU rises 7 spots this week.
23. Baltimore –5 (0-1)- Still a work in progress, Goose’s defense finished with a disappointing 32.7 points total. Even still, Kansas City’s 95-point victory margin wasn’t in danger. BAL only stumbles 5 spots as a result.
24. Chicago -1 (0-1)- Chicago’s 107+ points were respectable, but too many big names left points on the field, and as a result, Chicago disappointed. The Bears onlu drop 1 spot, however, to 24.
25. Tampa Bay -14 (0-1)- A team I tabbed to make some noise this year in the NFC South, the Bucs took a major step backwards in Week 1, failing to capitalize on an uncharacteristic bad week from Cecil. A sub-100 point performance and several huge no-shows from TB players has this team making the biggest drop in the PRs at 13 spots.
26. Denver -6 (0-1)- Steve’s first year in the league got off to a rough start with Tony Romo having probably the worst game he’ll play all season. Denver needed to beat what looks like the doormat of the AFC North, but was unable to crack 106 points. Concerns at RB and DL linger. He’ll only drop 6 spots this week though.
27. St. Louis -11 (0-1)- An underwhelming offensive performance for the Rams has STL dropping 11 spots, and with an injury to Ben Tate, could take them down further.
28. Tennessee -7 (0-1)- A poor offense and middling linebackers saw Kirk’s Titans fall by 44 points to Donny. While some improvement is to be expected, the middle of that defense appears pretty suspect. As a result of the team’s 91+ points, TEN falls 7 spots to 28.
29. Carolina -5 (0-1)- One of the ugliest performances we’ve seen out of Sze in a while, all three phases of the game went wrong this weekend. Bernard Pierce will obviously rebound in a big way now, and with a couple of those 0’s erased, CAR could be an average but building team. But for now, a 5-spot drop seems more than fair.
30. New York Jets -3 (0-1)- Climbing out of the basement might take the Jets some time to do, as both offense and defense were atrocious, relying on a 17-point outing by Matt Bryant to get the team to 80 points. That means the Jets are falling 3 spots this week.
31. Buffalo -3 (0-1)- Sal has prepared this team to better contend in the future, but as predicted, the addition of Shaun Hill was troublesome this week, as he produced negative points. DBs at the back end only complicated his troubles, as BUF finished with 82+ points. What’s worse? Henne might hang on to Jacksonville’s QB job if he plays like he did this weekend more often than not. The Bills drop 3 spots this week.
32. New Orleans -1 (0-1)- The slight infusion of talent via late draft picks that Danny was able to affect on this team in the MFL has come calling, and until Eli Manning resurrects his career, which is about as likely as me marrying Anna Kournikova (so you’re telling me there’s a chance…), NO probably needs to get used to this kind of ranking for the rest of the year. The Saints fall 1 spot to round out this week’s PRs.
