Upset week in the NFL (And college football) also turned out to be upset week in this league, as three teams near the very bottom (Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and the Los Angeles Rams,) got their first wins of 2018 (Though through no fault of his own, BAL, despite a fantastic effort, won only because DAL (Aaron) started 3 inactives. I guess he really didn’t want to overtake Goose for 4th place on the wins list after all ). They move up 12, 10, and 5 respectively.
Additionally, in what has become a weekly occurrence, Cecil once again hit the 200-point mark for the third week in a row (Another first). Once again, another party joined him as well, as Andrew made his first ever appearance on the list (Which is rather shocking to be honest), and made it count—just besting J.R.’s Week 1 performance this year for the second-highest scoring game of all-time (And then he promptly lost his quarterback). As a result, he vaults ahead of CIN and JAX, who stay put behind Cecil, doing the same at the top, to #2 overall. Cecil has outscored the field by over 115 points through 3 weeks, and Andrew follows that by outscoring the rest of the field by nearly 100. To quantify all of this, scoring is the highest it's been since 2013, so that at least explains some of this.
Pittsburgh drops 6 spots in a cruel fate, after scoring 153 points this week, and the rest of the top-10 either move up a spot, or stay put (Though MIN technically wasn’t a member of the top-10 a week ago). That won’t last, however, as three Week 4 matchups pit unbeaten vs. unbeaten (CIN-PHI, JAX-DET, and BUF-NO). That means the top-10 can look very different next week. As for the middle, OAK rose three, and jumped Atlanta, who despite being 3-0, has had one of the friendliest schedules and profiles as more like a low-end 1-2 team, currently 23rd in scoring. Houston rose 4 spots and looks to be back on track, as does Cleveland, rising 7 after a dominant win. Carolina drops 5 spots despite a high-scoring loss, and sits at a disappointing 1-2, but is top-10 in scoring.
The Jets, Colts, and Dolphins all drop a few spots, as do Denver, Arizona, and the Giants, all previously in the 18-20 range. Tennessee drops 4 after a lopsided loss, as does NE. GB, whose owner hasn’t been on in two weeks, drops 6 spots. DAL only drops 1 because of where he stands in points, but officially became the first team this year to throw a game due to not setting his lineups, as previously mentioned. Kansas City, the league’s worst team of his own doing through three weeks, has yet to set a single lineup, and will be replaced if he does not set his lineups again and continues to test the CDFL limits of #tankmode. He falls 5 to 31st. These rankings were based on the Week 2 Power Rankings and the point totals of Week 3/YTD results. Enjoy, and I’ll see you in the Inactives Report so that some of you near the bottom can see how to win games.
