Week 2 is through and done with, and for a second week in a row, we have another record, as Cecil became the first GM ever to record back-to-back 200-point scoring weeks, beating the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers by ~90. Eight top-10 teams won this week, and so it stayed very much the same at the top. Seattle has been far-and-away the best team, followed by Cincinnati in scoring (Though he’s not jumping PIT, who has been more than solid himself, though CIN's RBs did likely set a record, with 27 combined receptions this week). Jacksonville had a messy but successful week, as did Carolina in a solid win over NYJ to drop Travis from the unbeaten. Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Detroit all pounded out big wins, and New Orleans also won fairly convincingly. The Chargers don’t drop too far after a near 130-point week and loss to the #1 team, and therefore, round out the top-10. Fourteen teams are 1-1, and they occupy 14 of the next 15 slots (2-0 Atlanta is not making a big climb this week, despite their record, because they’re 17th in points, easily the lowest of undefeated teams, and lower than several 1-1 squads). Minnesota, New York Jets, Oakland, and Indianapolis (Still third in scoring because of his Week 1 output), round out the top-15. Castle’s Dolphins have outperformed expectations and sit in the top-half after a near-win.
Denver tied Carolina for the largest riser this week (Both +8) after an impressive win over San Francisco, who like many of the other teams at the bottom, are there in large part to their insistence to start inactive players over active ones (Check out the weekly Inactives Report to see who forgot to check/set their lineup this week). All nine of the 0-2 teams stayed pretty unchanged, as the largest movement among them was 3 spots. On the down side, Cleveland fell the furthest (9 spots), and Tennessee and Green Bay each took 7-spot drops. We’ll stop seeing such large moves once things regulate a little more. These rankings were based on the Week 1 Power Rankings and the point totals of Week 2 results. Enjoy, and I’ll see you in the Inactives Report so that some of you near the bottom can see how to win games (Hint: Set your lineup).
