Hey guys, this is the running thread that Jordan (JAX) and I will keep up this season, informing the entire league of GMs who started inactive players on a given week. Since the system of the last few years cost several teams who would have otherwise won, several wins, this was determined to actually be unfair to those who do pay attention and set their lineup and therefore, not the equitable practice that it was intended to be. As such, we will no longer be setting teams' lineups for them this year to correct for inactives being started (Though we will gladly set your lineup for you if you are experiencing difficulty doing so, or are not able to access a computer, by messaging a LM, provided that you've given us enough time in advance to do so, and we have enough time to get to a computer...i.e. one minute before the deadline is NOT okay and will not be honored. An acceptable deadline for these maneuvers will be determined at commissioners' discretion).
Instead, as mentioned above, this year, Jordan (JAX) and I will be posting such instances of GMs starting inactive players here, in an attempt to force their hand into setting their lineups to avoid public embarrassment. No set or direct penalty will be assessed for a GM starting an inactive player, and we will provide context if further context is needed. However, at the end of the year, we will submit these instances to the commissioners (Matt (MIN) and Mett (ARI)), and they will rule on if any punishments for violaters are appropriate.
In summation, I know that we all have busy and active lives, and that sometimes we can make mistakes, miss deadlines, or just otherwise brain fart in various ways. No one is perfect, including myself, who has started two late game inactives with no one else left to play over the last few years. But as much as we can, please try your very to set your lineups every week. A league this large really requires teams to do so, otherwise results tend to skew towards a very few select teams, and make it harder for the majority of teams to compete, which in turn results in attrition--and we want to keep all 32 GMs in the league right now, as long as they're active and don't cause any problems. So don't be that guy with the self-defeating prophecy, of "This league is too hard," when the real story is, "I don't get on and make signings or improvements to my team, oh and I don't set my lineups--but this league is too hard." No wonder. Best of luck men, and we appreciate the effort.

Week 1 GMs Starting Inactives:
John (KC)- Started Derek Rivers (NE-DL) (Inactive/Injured). Could've put either Jeremiah Attaouchu (NYJ-DL) or Leonard Williams (NYJ-DL) in at DL and placed Lorenzo Carter (NYG-LB) in at ID in that player's place. Final score would've been GB 95.1 to 92.96 KC, so it didn't affect the outcome of the game.
Nate (SF)- Started Jermaine Kearse (NYJ-WR) (Inactive/Injured) over Pharoh Cooper (LAR-WR) (Who scored 3.48 points). Final score would've been IND 225.98 to 94.25 SF, so it didn't affect the outcome of the game. But, despite the fact that Kearse was on the Monday late game, it was the earlier of two late games on Monday night, the latter one involving the Rams, who the active replacement, Pharoh Cooper played for. SF also started no kicker, and did not take care of that this week, though he has promised to next week.
Vic (NO)- Started Nigel Bradham (PHI-LB) (Inactive/Suspended) over Tedric Thompson (SEA-DB) (NO's only other active defender, who scored 4.8 points). There is no excuse for having Bradham in his lineup, as this suspension was ANNOUNCED IN JUNE! Vic has been on since June. 🤷🏻♂️
Mike (TB)- Started Oren Burks (GB-LB) (Inactive/Injured) over Dorian O'Daniel (KC-LB) and Anthony Chickillo (PIT-LB). Neither of those two players scored, but were active. However, there were many substantiated rumors about Burks potentially being able to play Week 1, and as it was the late game Sunday, it's possible that he was taking the chance that the highest-upside guy was going to be active.
Aaron (DAL)- Didn't start a kicker (Which he has since remedied by signing one).
Mike (GB)- Started Preston Smith (Inactive) over Kamalei Correa (8.1), Marquell Lee (7.2), and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (3.9).
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 1. I am making guesses about motivations where they're not clear. Feel free to post a retort as to why you made the decisions that you did, so that you can defend yourselves if we make you look stupid. Who knows, maybe we're stupid. This should be a dialogue. Please though, correct the mistakes you made Week 1, and don't make them again. Thanks.

Going forward, we're going to be changing how we do the "Inactives Report," based on some complaints we've had after Week 1. We will handle them as follows:
1. The mistake that I made in regards to Justin (CAR) starting an inactive player (Which was incorrect, as he DID NOT start an inactive) has been removed. Also, TO BE CLEAR, Justin never complained despite this error on my part. 2. We will no longer be providing commentary. Just the facts ma'am. Some people were offended by the the tone of the commentary (Though the intent behind this was to get said GMs who were starting inactive players to cease doing so due to the embarrassment of it being reported and posted for the whole league to see, as we are no longer setting lineups and have no control whether teams do or do not set their lineups with inactive players in them). I suppose someone could take offense to what I said, but A. Nothing I said (Minus the gaffe of including Justin) was inaccurate, and B. I mostly tried to provide reasoning as to why Charlie, Nate, and Mike may have decided to not sign a player for a one-week suspension, which is totally under their purview, and/or accidentally started players who ended up being inactive in post-1 PM games, despite numerous reports and evidence that they would in fact be active leading up to the game. The only two that I believe I was critical of, are John, who did not properly optimize his lineup to avoid starting an inactive (In either Week 1 OR Week 2, as you'll see momentarily), and Vic, for starting a player whose suspension was announced in JUNE. But if that's too negative, I suppose we'll just have to take the result of potentially tanking teams over a little honesty. 3. If it was a late game inactive that was not reported before the day's games began, it will not be listed.

Week 2 GMs Starting Inactives:
John (KC)- Derek Rivers (For the second-consecutive week), and Christian Kirksey over Leonard Williams (10.2) and Tarvarius Moore (1.2). Also only attempted to start 7 defensive players. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Charlie (CHI)- Ed Dickson over Nick Boyle (3.6) and left Dante Fowler (8.2) on the bench with an empty DL spot (Charlie has already discussed this with us)
Aaron (DAL)- Ziggy Ansah over Jordan Jenkins (8.2). This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Erik (TEN)- Erik Swoope, who was waived by the Colts on 9/13, over A.J. Derby (8.4)
Chris (NE)- Jadaveon Clowney over Josey Jewell (2.4) and Trey Flowers over Kyle Fuller (2.4). Both played Monday night
Nate (SF)- No kicker on roster. This has since been resolved.
Trey (LAC)- DeVante Parker over Anthony Miller (8.7).
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 2. Thank you to Jordan for the legwork this week. Please though, correct the mistakes you made Week 1 AND 2, and don't make them again. Thanks. Updated 9/25 to add final 3.

Week 3 GMs Starting Inactives:
Aaron (DAL)- Started only 11 active players, including Jack Doyle (Inactive) over Jordan Akins (2.3), only attempted to start 7 defensive players, though once notified, placed Ziggy Ansah (Inactive), the only remaining player yet to play, in his lineup. Aaron started Ansah, Trey Flowers, and Patrick Chung (All inactive, which means DAL would've had one IDP inactive regardless) over Jordan Jenkins (7.4) and Yannick Ngakoue (3.9). If active lineup started, DAL wins 139.9-135.41. This is his third-straight week, and third overall appearance in the Inactives Report.
Jaxon (GB)- Started C.J. Procise (Inactive) over Brandon LaFell (Active but 0), and Kamalei Correa (Inactive) over Preston Smith (8.4).
John (KC)- For the third-straight week, KC did not set their lineup. For the second-consecutive week, Christian Kirksey (Inactive) and Eli Apple (Inactive) over Leonard Williams and Tarvarius Moore (Both active, but both 0s). KC only had 7 active defensive players that he could play positionally. This is his third appearance on the Inactives Report.
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 3. You're making some very simple mistakes that can be fixed just by setting your lineups. Please, correct the mistakes you made Weeks 1, 2, and 3, and don't make them again. Thanks.

A note: Jordan helped me realize that teams starting inactives or no players at all (Because they don't have any) when a corresponding position when they have a player at that position on bye, is the same thing, essentially, to starting an inactive or no players at all when a player at the corresponding position is inactive or on IR with no alternatives. Therefore, I will cease posting those situations below in future weeks, and will remove said situations from previous weeks for consistency.
Week 4 GMs Starting Inactives:
Chris (NE)- Only started 7 players on defense (Only 1 LB) with 1 LB (Tim Williams 5.4) and 3 total active players on the bench (Other two were Kyle Fuller 4.8, and E.J. Gaines 11.5). Any of those three could've been started, as Josey Jewell, a LB, was in one of the ID spots. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 4. This was the best week by far this season. Please, correct the mistakes you made in the first 4 Weeks and don't make them again. Thanks.

Week 5 GMs Starting Inactives:
Ryan (ATL)- Started no RWT on offense with four active players on his bench (D.J. Chark (7.8), Ian Thomas (5.3), Chris Conley (3.1), J.J. Nelson (0)). He also didn't start a 2nd ID on defense, with two active players, but neither scored. Wouldn't have made the difference in the game, as BUF won by 13.45.
Charlie (CHI)- Started an inactive (Marcus Murphy) over Martavis Bryant (8.6) in the RWT slot. Also started an inactive (David Irving) in an ID spot with three active players on the bench (Xavien Howard (2.7), Frankie Luvu (2.4), and Zach Vigil (0)). It would've been close, but even starting both, Charlie would've lost 85.7-79.22. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Steve (DEN)- Started Cameron Wake (Inactive) over Carl Lawson (1.2). It wouldn't have made a difference. Steve has already discussed why this happened with us.
Chris (NE)- Never corrected his mistake from last week and started an incomplete lineup again, only starting 7 players on defense (Only 1 ID) with two active players, E.J. Gaines (7.8) Josh Sweat (0). If he had started Gaines in that open spot, he would have beaten CAR 116.72-112.88. This is his second-straight, and his third overall appearance on the Inactives Report, as well as his first game lost by starting an inactive.
Malachi (NYG)- Started Tavon Wilson (Inactive) over Kevin King (4.8) or Ramon Humber (0).
Kevin (CLE)- Started Jaire Alexander (Inactive) over Mike Adams (20), Da'Shawn Hand (11.8), or William Jackson (4.2).
Jaxon (GB)- Did not start a complete lineup, only attempting to start 5 players on offense, leaving one WR spot open. Left Curtis Samuel (10.7) on the bench, and would have won 119.21-118.49 had he started him. As it is, lost to TEN. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 5. This was the worst week this season so far. I don't really know what to say at this point. This was designed to get people to set their lineups, and it's clearly not having an effect when the same teams are repeating on this report multiple times. Anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to offer them at this point.

Week 6 GMs Starting Inactives:
Charlie (CHI)- Started an inactive (Marcus Murphy) over Wayne Gallman (5.2) in the RB slot. This is his third appearance on the Inactives Report, and second-straight.
Steve (DEN)- Started Nathan Gerry (Inactive Thursday game) over Josh Norman (14.2). It wouldn't have made a difference. This is Steve's second appearance on the Inactives Report, and second-straight..
Justin (CAR)- Started Geronimo Allison (Inactive Monday night) over Cole Beasley (26.84). This is his first legitimate appearance on this list.
Chris (NE)- Never corrected his mistake from the third-straight week and started an incomplete lineup again, only starting 7 players on defense (Only 1 DL) with Josh Sweat (0) on the bench. This is his third-straight, and his fourth overall appearance on the Inactives Report. I know that Chris has a long history in this league, but we probably need to start reaching out to him and having a contingency plan in place. Same for Jaxon.
Malachi (NYG)- Started Margus Hunt (Inactive) over Ramon Humber (1.2) or Gerald McCoy (0). This is his second and second-straight appearance on the Inactives Report.
Travis (NYJ)- Started Nick Vannett (Inactive) over Virgil Greene (0).
Jaxon (GB)- Started Jonathan Stewart (Inactive/Injured Reserve) at RB in that state for at least the second-straight week. Also started C.J. Procise (Inactive). Left Curtis Samuel (1.48) and Wendell Smallwood (5.6) on the bench. This is his third, and second-straight appearance on the Inactives Report.
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 6. We're all over the place right now, and it looks like we have several owners that may warrant replacement at this point. Those of you familiar with multiple repeat offenders, please reach out to them this week!

Tried changing Beasley out for Allison but the game already locked while I was trying to make the switch. It’s hard having players who are questionable playing on Monday night and players who play on Sunday who are healthy. Makes for a tough decision , especially when Allison is that much better then my other options. Next week!

Vannett was a gametime scratch (or close to it) as I checked before work and he looked like he would play. Not that it mattered anyway...

Week 7 GMs Starting Inactives:
Goose (BAL)- Started Tre Boston (Inactive Thursday game) at ID over Kemoko Turay (8.6), Tyus Bowser (0), Patrick Onwausor (1.2), Ronnie Harrison (7.95), or Doug Middleton (3.9). This is his first appearance on the Inactives Report.
Chris (NE)- Never corrected his mistake for the fourth straight week and started an incomplete lineup again, only starting 7 players on defense (Only 1 ID), with Josh Sweat (0) and Tim Williams (3.9) on the bench. This is his fourth-straight, and his fifth overall appearance on the Inactives Report. I know that Chris has a long history in this league, and I personally reached out to him this week, and asked JR to do the same. I didn't receive a response. Perhaps it's time to move on. Same for Jaxon and John.
Malachi (NYG)- Started Gerald McCoy (Inactive) over Chris Long (1.2). This is his third and third-straight appearance on the Inactives Report.
John (KC)- Started Quincy Enunwa at WR (Inactive) over Justin Watson (0), and only attempted to start 7 defensive players (1 ID) with Allen Bailey (2.4) and Derek Rivers (1.2) on the bench...and still blasted my ass. This is his fourth appearance on the Inactives Report, all four stemming from John not attempting to start a full defensive lineup with active players on the bench.
Jaxon (GB)- Started Linval Joseph (Inactive) at DL with Matt Ioannidis (DL) at ID, meaning that had he swapped them, he could've started any of the three other defenders on his bench at ID, Preston Smith (10.8), Donte Jackson (1.2), or Malcolm Jenkins (11.4). This is his fourth, and third-straight appearance on the Inactives Report.
Mike (TB)- Started only 7 players on defense (Only 1 ID), with Jordan Willis (2.4), Kemal Ishmael (2.4), Dorian O'Daniel (4.8), and Kurt Coleman (2.4) active and on the bench. Oren Burks (GB-LB) (Inactive/Injured) over Dorian O'Daniel (KC-LB) and Anthony Chickillo (PIT-LB). This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
That concludes the list of GMs who started inactive players Week 7. I get a one week mistake, and I also get that there are more important things sometimes, but this seems to come down not to reminding oneself of the time they need to check and set their lineups (For most of you repeat offenders), and...I honestly don't know what the hell. The one thing I cannot understand is how you intentionally attempt to start less than a full lineup. It's hard to do guys. You are all aware that we're allowed to start 8, right? And Fantrax should be telling you that you're not starting enough players when you go to set the lineups in question, no? I'm just really confused as to how that could not only happen once, but happen as many as four times for some teams in a single season with no end in sight.

Week 8 GMs Starting Inactives:
Mike (TB)- Started James Washington (Inactive) over Josh Malone (Active, 0), and only attempted to start 10 players, and 9 active players. Left three active offensive players and three active defensive players on the bench. He left 20 available points on the bench, which would've made the difference, as he lost 117.13-to-98.48. This is his third appearance on the Inactives Report, and his first thrown game of the year.
Erik (TEN)- Only attempted to start 7 defensive players, leaving an open DB spot and Bradley McDougald's 8.7 points on the bench. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Charlie (CHI)- Started Dont'a Hightower (Inactive) and Khalil Mack (Inactive) over Elijah Lee (4.4 points), Frankie Luvu (4.2 points), or Zach Vigil (1.2 points). This is his fourth appearance on the Inactives Report.
Vic (NO)- Didn't attempt to start a running back or second wide receiver on offense with running backs Doug Martin (7.9) and DeAndre Washington (0.4 points), and wide receiver Austin Carr (0) Active. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
John (KC)- Only attempted to start five players on offense with two active replacements (Rishard Matthews, 0, and Justin Watson, 1 point) on the bench. This is his fifth appearance on the Inactives Report.
Ryan (ATL)- Started Darqueze Denard (Inactive) in the ID spot over Stephone Anthony (1.2 points). This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Chris (NE)- Started Robby Anderson (Inactive) over Demarcus Robinson (0.6 points). It's his sixth appearance on the Inactives Report, and his fifth-straight.
Malachi (NYG)- Started Gerald McCoy (Inactive) over Chris Long (8.4 points). This is his fourth and fourth-straight appearance on the Inactives Report.
Kevin (CLE)- Only attempted to start five players on offense with an active replacement, Alex Erickson (3.4 points), on his bench. This is his second appearance on the Inactives Report.
Steve (DEN)- Started Torrey Smith (Inactive) over Jaylen Samuels (1.7 points) or Daniel Fells (1.1 points). This is his third appearance on the Inactives Report.
Castle (MIA)- Started Ken Crawley (Inactive) over Christian Covington (2.4 points) and Pernell McPhee (1.2 points), though it was the late Sunday game. This is Castle's first appearance on this list.
Nate (SF)- Started Keke Coutee (Inactive) over Dante Pettis (0). This is his third appearance on the Inactives Report.
If you're counting, that's 12 teams that started an inactive or an empty spot in Week 8. Welp...
