Hello gentlemen, and welcome to the official start of the new year of the Canton Dynasty Football League. With Matt's permission, I'm going to go ahead and post this, as we have a lot of things to accomplish in a short time. We're going to start ramping up activity, and though none of you have been off the site for more than a week or so, and we very much appreciate that, but for all those logins, there has been very little posting activity. So let's get to work.
First things first, the LMs have been hard at work to draft a new and updated QB Rule that closes as many loopholes as we can that GMs (Including myself) have exploited in the past. The reality is that with a 32-team league, it's near impossible to write a rule that requires each team to have one and only one starting QB (When there are only 32 at any one time) that is ironclad with no loopholes, unless we enforce the rule to the letter of the law each week, all-season long. However, we think we've found the best combination of being buttoned up to avoid loopholes, which still allowing for the practicality of having fun in this league. If you're one of the parties who has provided feedback for some of our ideas, thank you, and to those who would like to make any last minute suggestions, PM me. As of now, we anticipate having this done and releasing it next week.
Secondly, I will be releasing the two Hall of Fame posts tomorrow in the Hall of Fame section. Please stop by to read over the accomplishments of these two very deserving parties, feel free to offer your input, and join me in congratulating them at that time. We will be expanding the HOF voting pool at that point to all GMs who were a part of the North Florida Football League for next year's voting, so to those members who that applies for, look out for that e-mail in the next few days.
As for divisional previews, I will be handling them once again this year, and will have them running in the week-to-two weeks before the beginning of the regular season. I apologize for how late they're running this year. They will also be shorter this year, which I apologize for as well, but we've been a little bit behind with everything, and my work schedule hasn't allowed for them so far. Don't worry though, they will be done, and I have already started on them.
I have also updated the All-Time Franchise Records and All-Time Wins List pages to reflect the beginning of the 2018 season. I know there are some omissions that I have made in error, and I will try to get to those as soon as possible, but a helpful reminder on your part, should you see one, always helps.
Lastly, we will post a Rivalry Week Thread for you to challenge one another once Garrett posts the schedule, as we want to make sure to keep from duplicate matchups (Something I made a mistake on last year by pitting DEN against NYG, despite them also playing weeks later). It would be really helpful if you read the divisions you will play when the list is posted and pick your own opponent from the list by calling them out/challenging them as opposed to the league assigning them to you, as we're busy, and clearly make mistakes.
Thanks again for being a member of this league, and we look forward to the 2018 season, our 10th, in MFL/NFFL/CDFL history. May it be our best year yet.
