To the Pittsburgh owner, please post a reasoning for the veto in the trade review or as a reply here. That’s not fair to me, who just took over the team, to not get a detailed explanation behind the veto.

You haven't even joined fantrax yet. You've been in this league for less than a day. You are getting two backup RBs, a DB and an untradable contract at WR.

I don't think any trades should be allowed before a GM gets fully integrated into the league

Christian, we actually generally instruct our TRC NOT to post reasoning in the Trade Review section because it can be unduly predujicial, so if it was a veto for him, it’s actually probably better for you/the chances that the trade will be passed that he did not post a reasoning in the Trade Review. As far as his vote is concerned, it’s up to him to decide for himself on the merits of a trade. I’ve known Garrett on here for 7 years now, and if he vetoed a trade, he probably has a very good reason in his mind, and I’m sure he would be glad to explain further on here if you wish.

Thank you both for the reply!
Chris - thank you for the explanation behind this. I just needed a little clarification.
Garrett - Thank you for providing reasoning. Concerning the untradable WR contract, I was fully aware what I was taking on and wasn’t concerned about trading him if the trade went through. I’m prepared to eat that contract for the year as I wasn’t gonna resign Lewis for the amount I would’ve had to. Two RB’s, albeit backups, help me out option wise going forward. I wasn’t planning on resigning Reshad Jones after this year, so the Lattimore pickup really helps out going forward for this year and future years. The 2nd round pick allows me to have to two picks in which I can draft two young players to fill depth and hope the picks end up working out.
As far as I haven’t been in the league for a day and you don’t think I should be allowed to make a trade because of this. Well, that’s just like.. your opinion, man.
Hope this clears up anything for you.

I dont really see a ton value in lattimore. elite level corners dont generally make for good fantasy plays but just looking at the deal. I think funcheese and the rookie pick are pretty close in value. Id say the future 3rd about closes the gap there. Djax amd dion are both pretty much 1 year rentals. I think the rest thats going detroits way fills that gap. He needs depth. Not the best trade in the world but it fills some holes and might end up looking like a homerun depending on who he lands @ 46

I think the trade could be boiled down to funchess for a 2nd. Funchess is only 24, he’s already a #1 WR on his team and he’s coming off a double digit PPG season. He’s a really valuable asset. Chances are there won’t be a guy that good left in the mid 2nd round. But DET will figure this stuff out as he goes.

I was close to a veto, but in the end, didn’t think it merited that, mainly because, I’m not sure how valuable Funchess will be with a healthy Greg Olsen and DJ Moore inserted into his lineup. Ultimately, that’s why this trade is a lot more palatable for me. I think that if Andrew’s assertion about Funchess is correct, it’ll turn out to be a BIG win for Oakland and conversely a huge loss for Detroit, bitcoin if that doesn’t happen, there’s a large range of possibilities that would make this a palatable trade for him.

Also, I do have to say, that’s a cool logo. It threw me off for a second because I was so used to seeing Cam Newton there.
