With the game already underway, perhaps this is a little late, but what the hell, I'm going to do it anyway. Here is a list of interesting facts about this week's Super Bowl contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers. - This is Matt's (MIN) first visit to the Super Bowl. He made the conference championship game a year ago and lost to Cecil (On his way to the championship). This is Garrett's (PIT) second time in the title game, as he won it all over Cecil in 2014.
- No GM has even won two Championships, so if Garrett were able to pull off the win, he would be the first in league history (We've had a different champion every year in the league. It just goes to show you how hard it is to win in here)
- This is also the first time in league history (At least the history that I can see--dating back to 2011) that a former champion even has a chance to win a second title by being in the Super Bowl.
- If Matt were to win, he would be the first Super Bowl champion in league history to sport a losing record all-time (He's currently 42-46, .477%, though he is also now 5-2 all-time in the postseason).
- The only matchup all-time between Matt and Garrett was in Week 9 of 2015, when Garrett beat Matt 127.51-100.98.
- Currently, Fantrax projects Garrett to win by the score of 149.2-132.9, despite the fact that Matt has jumped out to an early 37.9-3.8 lead (Though he has played three players already to Garrett's two).
- Garrett has the best postseason record of all-time by percentage (82%), and still would have the top percentage mark if he lost, but would move out of a tie for 2nd all-time in playoff wins and into 2nd alone, 4 wins behind Cecil.
- May the best team win. Good luck to both of you gentlemen, and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everyone!
