Haven't watched a game, wont watch a game don't give a fuck about the $9billion business that is trying to self destruct. It will be my last year playing fantasy football if Goodell and the owners don't grow a pair and shut this shit down. TRC don't hold that against me in any trades I make lol. Funny how it was all vetoes in the Davis trade until the (all knowing)TRC decided his value dropped by trade to NYJ and all of the sudden I could get him.

I think we should delete this thread just because i dont know if this is the place for this discussion. I will say i think its convenient that trump continues to attack nfl players while Florida and texas are still partially under water. More people then live in all of the dakotas montana idaho are without power right now in Puerto Rico, the north Koreas bs and the failed healthcare reform are all going on. But yes African Americans peacefully protesting racial injustice during the national antham before football games is our biggest concern..😒

Trump is a pathetic waste of space cannot stand the guy and have people forgot the actual reason Kapernick knelt because it clearly has been forgotten somewhere down the line. the way black people (and other ethnicities) get treated by police in the US is disgusting and Kapernick should be applauded for making a fricking stand...obviously this is comming from someone who doesnt live in the US (thank God) but its about time people took a stand

I haven't watched as much football this year, partly because I the bengals are terrible and partly because I pretty burned out on everything being so political. The whole point of the protest was to raise awareness. I'm aware now. We don't have to spend every waking moment talking about the same thing over and over. It just seems like they're beating a dead horse here.

ESPECIALLY during the national anthem which is honoring those who served our country. I think it is just a bad place to do it. Make your statement off the field, I would have no problem if he had done that.

To me this was exactly the way to do it and the proof is in the pudding. If he had "protested off the field" a year ago would anyone be talking about it today? No.

Because the sports shows keep talking about it. I want to stop hearing about it. He is out of the NFL and ratings for the NFL are WAY down, so obviously more people aren't tuning in to see that, even if the games are good, I only watch the Steelers games now, where last year I tried to watch multiple games a week. The kneeling hasn't helped anything and people are turning off the games

To Sal’s point, I’m at a loss to think of a better solution to bring awareness to a real problem in our nation. I do think that the message has become muddled because people have become so focused on the method as opposed to the bigger reason for the demonstration. If someone has a better method to get people talking on a national, even global level, I have yet to hear it. Kaepernick and others do a lot of work in their communities, but that doesn’t bring the same level of awareness as a demonstration on the platform that an NFL game provides. Having said that, I agree that the socks did nothing but stain his credibility and give ammunition to his detractors, and that is unfortunate.
To pivot a little bit, I don’t know why we play the National Anthem at sporting events in the first place. The odd relationship between sports and the military has always baffled me. I can’t think of any other event which requires the playing of the anthem; I’ve certainly never been to a concert which opened this way, nor does my work day begin with the pledge of allegiance, for example. Why sports?

Money Jordan, The military pays the NFL millions every year for them to play the Nation Anthem and we all know the NFL loves money more than anything.

When criminals try to kill cops they drastically increase their odds of getting killed. Maybe these millionaires could actually go help in the communities and teach kids stuff like that. Also Kap started this shit when Obama was the President so I don't get why this turned into an anti Trump thing other than as always the liberals just want anything to distract against him trying to MAGA! Why are the players now holding up their fists in a display of black power when all they want is equality? The NFL controls everything players do including letting them disrespect the flag and country at the same time they cash checks from the military.

I’m not talking specifically about the NFL; the Anthem is just as likely to be played at a high school lacrosse game, for instance. It’s all sports and all levels.
