Thanks Trey it's nice to see some common sense applied. Could we get the rest of the votes to either get this passed or vetoed and move on.

Here's the thing: Mett and I talked this over a few hours ago when he asked me what I thought about the deal.
I told him at first glance, it's not a good deal. He mentioned the fact that he's a productive fantasy player at 8.53 PPG, and under a reasonable contract at $3/4y. But, when looking at it deeper, it's important to consider the following things.
1. Davis is in the final year of his deal with the Browns. 2. Davis garnered Pro Football Focus' SECOND-WORST ILB grade last year out of 59 qualifiers. 3. Because of PFF's accuracy in scouting across meaningful sample sizes (As Sal and I discussed a few years back, Aaron Rodgers had a 5 TD game that PFF wasn't too fond of, and the two of us thought that was pretty stupid. But again, across full seasons, they're incredibly accurate), NFL teams tend to follow their thinking when making personnel decisions, or at least mirror the PFF rankings. 4. And that all adds up to this: Davis will be lucky to be picked up at the end of the season should he not seriously improve his play, something that every reputable outlet that tracks player performance has highlighted as an issue throughout his career: his play is not that good despite being put in advantageous production situations. And if he does end up getting signed, it will almost certainly be as a backup or special teams player, hardly worth $3/3y that will be remaining on his contract after this year.
So here's how I see it: Davis will still probably be a significant fantasy contributor this year, but is probably for all intents and purposes a contract dump in the final three years of the deal if Davis doesn't do something to drastically improve upon 5 years of bad play. Mett asked what I would have offered, and I said, before I knew the PFF/play information, a 2nd rounder (probably late), but now, if I HAD to trade for him, I would offer no more than a 3rd and a contract dump myself on my end. So, make of that what you will, and I don't want to do this to influence the TRC to pass or veto it. It doesn't effect me. But, I do think the PFF/future sustainability as a starter part is worth being considered. Best of luck to all parties.

Davis was just traded to the Jets... Hahaha, dammit (for my purposes with Harris), though he is listed as the #3 ILB and is now just a depth piece.
