During the middle of the UFA Draft, one of our League Managers brought to our attention that the rosters on Proboards side and Fantrax side were not matching up for the New York Giants. After a careful and time-consuming investigation, we have determined that three players listed on NYG's Fantrax roster from last year, Melvin Ingram, Dre Kirkpatrick and Preston Parker, were 0y players who were not re-signed and should have been released into the FA pool for the draft, but for whatever reason, weren't. As we were in the 3rd Round of the UFA Draft at the time we figured this out, it would have been unfair to simply release these three players back into the pool, as it would give whoever was OTC that day an unfair advantage and opportunity to sign the player.
What we are doing instead is allowing all 3 players to be bid on once Free Agency is reopened after the Rookie Draft, so keep in mind that these players are available when planning your draft strategy. We will announce the opening of Free Agency after the draft, so stay tuned. I apologize on behalf of the league and myself for this oversight, and hope that you feel we handled this appropriately to give everyone a fair and equal chance to sign these players.
