Hello gentlemen. After talking it over with the League Managers, the majority decision is to handle the draft start date the way we did in the MFL as opposed to how we might have handled it in the NFFL (we don't have a concrete reference because we no longer have a site to reference it on...Thanks JAX), which means we'll be beginning the draft on this site on Monday, May 2nd at 8:00 AM ET as opposed to about a week after the draft concludes on Friday.
This means that there will be a quicker turnaround than usual, and that the possibility that the top 5-10 picks could be made by the end of that week is exponentially greater. So if you're someone who is interested in moving up into the top-5 or top-10, please prepare accordingly and make your offers now as opposed to when those picks are on the clock. We do give 24 hours per pick in the 1st Round (just like the UFA Draft), but we try not to take up more time than we have to there. So plan ahead, know what picks you're interested in trading for, make your offers as soon as possible, have backup plans for if your guy is taken, and most importantly, pay attention to where we are in the draft and be ready once you're on the clock. Basically, don't spend your time OTC familiarizing yourself with the draft eligible players for the first time and don't solicit or take your first trade offers during that time either. Prepare.
For those of you who are new to the league, I will send out a primer e-mail to familiarize you with the format and other aspects of it soon, so look out for that. It probably won't cover everything, but if you pay attention, you should figure it out pretty quickly.
