Do we really need Kickers? Most dynasty leagues don't use them. They just make bye weeks even more one sided. Does anyone have a good reason for keeping them?

I don't have strong opinions about kickers--other than that they can't be playmakers. Stupid Vinatieri. Mike Vick out.

What is with the hate on Kickers this offseason? Another league I am in had a similar discussion like 2 weeks ago.
If the only real argument is bye week, we already have to deal with QB bye week, and those point totals are way bigger. You can still win on your K bye week. I like having kickers

They are part of the game, they stay in my opinion.

I don't hate them. Just think they are a waste of cap space and years. Plus you have the teams that struggle with kickers every year and go through 3 or 4 of them.

Until the NFL drops FGs and XPs, I’ll alwahs vote to keep kickers Yeah I’m on board with this. We’ve always tried to keep this league as similar to the NFL as possible. The salary cap for this league was set at a level to accommodate having a kicker on the roster so if you want to get rid of the kicker then you should theoretically reduce the cap as well. If the whole goal is just to increase cap or roster space then I think there are better ways to do it.

As much as I agree with phi . I hate kickers in fantasy. Just been burnt too many times by a kicker either not showing up or beating a guys ass but losing because his kicker scores 20 points. Just seems stupid. Kicker scores are so random .

I don’t care either way. The best argument against a kicker is that it’s essential a random score at your 15th position each week. No skill is involved in choosing your kicker really. You just have one and you don’t think about him week to week. If the offense scores 4 TDs vs. getting stopped in the red zone 4 times, that is what determines a kicker’s low score or high score for the week.

Other players are more consistent than kickers. Kickers really are just a wild card slot. The league would be more balanced without them is my point. If we are trying to be more like the NFL then why don't we have 3 WR starting spots since most offense formations are 3 WR sets? No one has made a good reason to keep kickers but I feel like a few of you wont even consider dropping kickers.
