It’s fustrating because everyone including people on the TRC has been lowballing me for players as of late. I take a low ball trade and everyone flips out saying it’s a bad deal when people offer me bad deals all the time. I’ve seen worst bad deals passed. If there’s a spot on the TRC I’ll take it and give my blunt opinion. I’m sitting here always scheming up plans for players. I will not call owners out by name but have gotten at least 5 bad ones the past week. I at least try to work with people in need and try to be as fair as I could. Rant over.

If you're only getting bad offers then just don't make a trade. When you start accepting bad offers then everyone thinks of you as the guy who will accept shitty offers so they're only going to send you shitty offers.

I approached Oak about scooby. Not him. From what I heard through outlets I’ve followed he has a legit chance in Arizona. To me Shane 31 years old. 8 points a year. I’m stacked on running backs at the moment. He’s expendable in my eyes. Sending him to a team that’s not owned by a owner that’s not hurting me. I have two linebackers. Everyone gave me shit last year when I traded Drew Brees. At the end of the day. I make moves that I like. Everyone might now agree with the moves but I know what I’m doing and the risks I take. Getting offers for players that are questionable in my eyes for $4/1 year for a player like Carson who I got for $1/5y contract is t really even. They think the name value on that dude with $4 is worth resigning. And that dudes usually on the Defensve side of the ball. I hardly ever see a trade for Carson or Fat Rob that deals with other offensive players.

You talk about not liking people who sell you name value but all you bought here was name value. Scooby Wright has done literally nothing in the pros so he's purely name value. He was also cut in real life and in this league a couple weeks ago and and has done nothing since then. You could've had him for free. Not sure why his value suddenly increased after he logged zero points.

So here's why I think the parties involved (Non-TRC) are speaking out of both sides of their mouths, in addition to doing something that previously would have cost them a draft pick under our rules (Something that the league is now considering levying if they disrupt official threads that they have no reason to be involved in again). First off, the job of the TRC is to approve trades on the basis of fairness, legality and to prevent collusion from happening. I have every confidence that they do that, and do it well, and it is a volunteer position. Rubber-stamping trades, as they have been accused of doing, doesn't happen, and even if it did, as long as it meets the criteria above, I don't think that's such a bad thing. Where I'm not as confident in the TRC is when someone who is not involved in the process starts spouting off their opinion about the deal in that thread before voting has happened (And before an acceptance of the deal has even been made). It's not that I don't expect the TRC still to be able to do their best job in that situation, but rather that I don't think anyone can do their best job without the possibility of any influence being given to those inappropriate posts. It's like a courtroom. The reason the judge doesn't allow certain things to be heard is because they are unduly prejudicial to the case and might impact a jury's decision. It's the same thing here, and it is our job as league members (And managers) not to let that stuff in, because the opinions of non-TRC members should be given zero value or weight in the process. They're completely irrelevant and shouldn't be given any consideration in that thread. And the TRC isn't perfect, but at 7 members in a 32-team league, it's a representative sample size that should accurately reflect the sentiment of the league. I trust that, and the same thing should be said of those who are questioning if they'll make the right decision here, when they themselves benefit on trades that have been approved in the past of similar merit. They didn't feel the need to post vehement missives about why those trades weren't fair then, did they?
While I know that the two owners that I speak of, PHI and SEA, are among the best we've had, nothing makes them more right or wrong about these issues than any other member of the league, including myself (Even if they've proven that they are very infrequently wrong, they're at no greater statistical likelihood to be right or wrong the next time than anyone else). And that's exactly why there shouldn't be a problem "rubber-stamping" trades that meet the above criteria. Fairness is always the issue that we talk about, but that is so hard to determine. Fair for whom? And according to whom? Everyone has different opinions on what is fair, and each is equally valid. So the main thing to determine is, as esteemed fantasy writer/TV personality Matthew Berry says, was there any collusion. And if that answer is no, it should automatically be passed, because no one holds the crystal ball and so no one's opinion should matter more. Now I'm not quite as bullish about that as Berry is, but I think as a general principle, he's right. The only thing I would add is, if it's such a bad/big deal that it's league-altering, that it probably is the responsibility of the TRC to stop it.
As for Scooby Wright III, I don't understand why he has been the whipping boy of these parties. He's hardly the least-qualified player in our league to be on a roster. While I don't dispute the facts about his production (Or lack thereof so far), I do think that they are being offered without context. That context: Wright is in only his SECOND year in the league, and has only played in a total of three games so far (Which I realize is also part of the problem, but it's far to soon to be saying that he has NO value in the league, especially when some of these parties have held on to equal parts total project players that they believed in in the past). Secondly, he was drafted last year, and the team that has cut him has subsequently stashed him on the practice squad every time. So it's clear that they like something about him. And thirdly, he had one of the best if not THE BEST season for a defensive player in college football history three years ago before his injury (Which affected his final season by shortening it/limiting his effectiveness, and his effectiveness at the combine). So again, it's hard to validate saying that he's worthless this soon, and even in saying so, it's just an opinion. As for him being cut, the only reason that he was cut in this league was because I didn't have enough room to sign my rookies. If I had one more roster spot, I would have kept him. But I didn't. I like him a lot, and I'm far from the only GM that feels this way (As he has been owned by three other GMs). The part that I find distressing (Outside of posting inappropriately in a thread not intended for that) is that the parties who are questioning this trade for OAK-CHI are the same parties that questioned OAK claiming him. I understand that at least one of the issues was that I was claiming a player for OAK that I had released from CIN (My own team) for my own personal gain, but the idea behind that just doesn't hold any water, as I told the league managers beforehand that I was okay with accepting the cap hit from releasing him even though this has never happened before in the history of our league, because I felt that strongly about him and OAK having the chance to win big on a small gamble (OAK was #32 in waiver order at the time he was claimed), and if you would consult my roster, that penalty has remained for the entirety of the time since. But for OAK's sake, I don't understand the incongruity of how thinking that claiming Wright is a bad move for OAK and that getting good value from him in return is also a bad move. If someone else thinks that highly of him, even if you don't, why stifle that? And if anyone is unhappy with how I am running OAK, I will gladly hand over the reigns for someone to volunteer to run the team until we find a new owner if they're willing to take it on. Otherwise, people need to quit bitching and let the LMs/TRC do their jobs.

First off, that trade was a complete mockery to the league and should never have been posted so I don't feel bad about calling you out on it.
Secondly, go back and read the waiver claim thread. I specifically said I have no problem with OAK picking up Wright. I see zero value in Wright but if you want to fill out your roster that's fine with me. The issue I have is the personal gain aspect. And then the fact that you abused your power once again and approved your own trade.... that was way out of line.
Thirdly, I will gladly run the OAK team because I believe it has been mishandled for a while now. I've offered to run teams in the past and was never allowed to do so, so let's not act like you're taking a massive weight off other people's shoulders by doing what you're doing. Just let me know what I have to do to officially get access to their fantrax.

Chris i dont doubt your honesty but I must call you out on bs if your honesty trying to defend that trade. Vereen isn't an amazing back by any means but through 2 weeks and a tnf football game he is the #28 ranked runningback in our league. Which in a 32 team league makes him a solid starter. The best you admittedly can say about Scooby Wright is that he might get some snaps one day at probably the least hard to find position in an idp league outside of db. This was a cut and dry veto for me regardless of anyone elses opinion. Runningback is easily the rarest commodity in this league and deserve to be valued as such.

Not defending the trade Sal, just defending Wright as not "worthless." The TRC did what it needed to do. I'm fine with that. Not fine with non-TRC parties posting in TRC threads.

I think everyone has a different opinion on players. And if two people agree on something I don’t see a problem. At the end of the day I might be getting the worst of it for now. But he’s only a second year player with upside in my eyes.

I didn’t say that at all. Please don’t twist my words sir. You said if two people agree on something then there shouldn't be a problem. That's how every trade goes. Two people think it's fair and agree on it. Then it goes to the TRC to see if anyone has a problem with it. Everyone had a problem with your trade except you two but you're saying that shouldn't matter.
